Research:

My research delves into the impact of traumatic events and coping strategies for both mass and individual trauma. Regarding mass trauma, I examine the psychological effects on direct victims and the broader population in cases of terrorism and the COVID-19 pandemic. For individual trauma, I investigate the well-being and distress of diverse victim groups (such as Arabs living in Israel, the elderly, immigrants, and victims of sexual harassment). This involves analyzing the roles of personal attributes (like ego-resiliency, self-efficacy, and Big Five personality traits), cognitive aspects (including thinking style, cognitive functioning, and perceptions), and social factors (such as acculturation, social responses, and social integration).

Within the context of both mass and individual trauma, my work investigates risk factors (such as PTSD, depression, fear, distress, suicidal tendencies, and impaired functioning) as well as protective factors (like post-traumatic growth, happiness, resilience, coping skills, and a sense of purpose in life).
